Announcing Nominations for Broward Circuit Court Vacancy
The Seventeenth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) has released the names of individuals nominated to fill the vacancy that arose following the retirement of Circuit Court Judge Patti Henning.
After conducting comprehensive interviews of twenty-two applicants and taking into careful consideration the feedback received from the bench, the bar, and the public, the JNC has listed the following nominees. They are presented in alphabetical order, without any particular preference:

Julio E. Gonzalez, Jr.
Janice Carine Haywood
Jessica Marra
Kevin Patrick Tynan
Christopher Beauregard Wigand
Thomas D. Oates, the Chair of the Seventeenth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, stated, "Each of the nominees have displayed an exceptional grasp of the law and a clear commitment to justice, making them suitable candidates to fill this important role."
The JNC extends its heartfelt gratitude to all members of the bench, the bar, and the general public who took time out of their busy schedules to provide feedback about the applicants. Your involvement is an essential part of ensuring the integrity of our judicial system.
The list of nominees is now with Governor Ron DeSantis, who will make the final decision regarding the appointment to the Broward Circuit Court.
