Honoring the Guardians of Our Shores – U.S. Coast Guard Change of Command 2025

I was honored to attend the 2025 Change of Command Ceremony for the United States Coast Guard Sector Miami, a meaningful event hosted by Rear Admiral Douglas Schofield. Held with the ceremonial precision and honor that the U.S. military is known for, this gathering was more than a transfer of authority—it was a celebration of service, leadership, and enduring commitment to our nation's safety and sovereignty.

The ceremony marked the end of a distinguished chapter led by Captain Christopher R. Cederholm, whose leadership and dedication set a high bar for operational excellence and maritime security in one of the busiest and most critical sectors of our nation’s coastline. As we welcomed Captain Frank J. Florio to his new command, the spirit of resilience, honor, and mission-first integrity was evident in every salute and every word spoken.

Events like these serve as powerful reminders of the strength, discipline, and duty that define not only our military but every branch of law enforcement. The U.S. Coast Guard stands as a front line of defense—intercepting threats, saving lives, and ensuring the free and lawful use of our waters.

To the brave men and women of the Coast Guard: your tireless service, both seen and unseen, commands our respect and deserves our deepest gratitude. I remain steadfast in my support for all who serve in uniform—at sea, on land, and in our communities—upholding the rule of law and defending our freedoms day in and day out.

Let us not only recognize their service with applause but also honor it with action—through advocacy, appreciation, and unwavering unity.
